What a massive yet amazing few days we had in Education Week! Starting with our P&C Working Bee, our school community spirit continued to shine brightly throughout the week with our Book Fair a record breaking success. Mrs Austin and Mrs Cramp worked tirelessly during the week with sales ongoing before and after school and during break times. Open classrooms were very well attended across the school before a shared picnic lunch. Students and staff then got into the spirit of our Book Character Parade with an incredible amount of characters, old and new on display. An amazing effort by everyone, with special mention to Mrs Davies on her infectious enthusiasm introducing each class and all of the characters. On the subject of amazing, our P&C coordinated a delicious meal, keeping in theme with our evening Bush Dances. Again it was so wonderful to see so many people and so much positive school community spirit on display. A mighty shout out to all staff, with special mention to Miss Barrett for driving our bush dances and to Miss Boyle and Mr Boyle for all of their preparatory work in the weeks leading up to the evening and for being terrific compares on the night. Education Week concluded with the Headlands PSSA Athletics Carnival at Ewingsdale on Friday. All participating students need to be congratulated with their efforts on the day. There were some terrific individual results with some of our students selected to compete at the Far North Coast PSSA carnival on Friday 23 August. More details will be forthcoming after results have been made official. Once again, a huge shout out to the entire Mullumbimby Public School community on an incredibly successful Education Week for 2019!
